What Happened to 2015?

Where Has the Year Gone?

Now we are in November 2015 where has the year gone and what will 2016 be like?  However, the year is as only as good as you make it.  Do you view issues as a problem or a challenge?  Having the right view is important.  We end up doing more when we view things as a challenge, We have more successes if we view things as a challenge and not a problem.

Preparation is Key!

Having the correct frame of mind is essential.  Try this, during December begin to view all issues not as problems but as challenges and keep it going and 2016 will be more fruitful and successful.

The Funny Side (I hope!)

Amidst the the wild side of life and what is going on in our little planet the relief valve of funnies always reduces he pressure.

What makes you smile? Laughing is good for you.  It takes less muscles to smile than to frown.

Being overweight can make you feel miserable, but if you want to lose those excess pounds, you’re better off trying to have a good laugh.
New research published in the International Journal of Obesity has discovered that laughter really is the best medicine for a weight problem.
The small study included 45 pairs of adult friends, who were shown either funny or serious film clips in a room that was set up with equipment to measure the amount of calories burnt and to monitor the rate, duration and type of laughter. The participants also wore heart monitors to measure their heart rate.
The researchers discovered that laughing increased both heart rate and calorie expenditure by up to 20 per cent – and the longer participants laughed for the greater the effects.
Using the results, the scientists then went on to calculate that just 15 minutes of laughter a day will burn 10 to 40 calories, depending on a person’s weight and the intensity of the laughter. That’s enough to shift between 1 and 4lb a year.  the strange thing is that I've been laughing for years and have a strange sense of humour and seem to be putting on weight not loosing it!

What makes you laugh?

Do we still laugh at one liners or is it stories and reality we laugh at?

Three jokes I find funny yet you may not.  However the reason for this blog about laughing should become apparent at the end.

Joke one

What do you get when you cross an Elephant and a Rhinoceros?
"EliPhino"

Joke Two

The following Sean Connery lines must be said like Sean Connery.

Sean Connery received a phone call from his manager (M)

M)"Hi Sean I have a new script for a movie."
Sean "Yesh"
M) "Yeah its Steven Spielberg he wants to put you in a new picture."
Sean "Yesh"
M) "And he wants to meet you tomorrow, how about tennish?"
Sean "Tennish?, but I haven't got a racquet!"

Joke Three

A man went to a restaurant and the doorman said sorry sir but you can't come in unless you are wearing a tie.  So the man said I 've got a pair of jump leads in the car could I use them?  The doorman said Yeah no problem as long as you don't try and start anything.

Daft or what! I would love to hear what you have to say about how humour helps you.

When you hear something funny it makes you feel good, happier!  Bring that feeling into the workplace and productivity should increase.  Feel good about yourself, feel good about others and feeling good about the job at hand will help you turn all your problems into challenges and make your working experience a happy one.

See You in December. Our Theme "Looking Forward!"
